How to Update Samsung Galaxy S3 to Android 4.2.2
The new Android version for Samsung Galaxy S3 is about to be released. In a close future, Samsung will launch the update. If you want to be informed about Android 4.2.2 update, follow this article. Galaxy S3 4.2.2 Firmware Download
You can download the Galaxy S3 Firmware from here, I9300XXUFME3_I9300OJKFME1_ILO.zip. File size is 972.3 MB.
Backup Your Personal Data
Before you start the update process, you should backup all your personal data on Galaxy S3. Ordinary Android upgrades do not harm your files on the phone, however, precaution is always good. You can backup your photos, videos and program settings before beginning the update.
Update to Android 4.2.2 via OTA

Update Samsung Galaxy S3 to Android 4.2.2 using Odin
First you should have Odin software. If you don’t have Odin, download 3.07 version from xda-developers.com forum. And for Odin to recognize your S3, download the Samsung drivers. If you have installed Samsung Kies, then you do not need to download and install Samsung Drivers.
- Extract the stock rom zip file to get the .tar or md5 file.
- Run Odin 3.07 exe file from download location. It does not need to be installed.
- Do not check the re-partion checkbox, auto reboot and f-reset should be checked.
- Click the PDA button and browse your computer to find the stock rom .tar or .md5 file you extracted.
- Put your phone into download mode. Shutdown your phone, then press simultaneously Home Button + Power Button + Volume Down Button. When the confirmation screen comes, press volume up button.
- When your S3 phone start in download mode, connect the USB Cable to phone. The color of ID:COM field in Odin software should change. This means that you successfully connected your phone and pc. If you have any problem, then try another USB Port.
- Press the Start button to install the new Android Version 4.2.2 on your phone.
- Wait until seeing the word PASS for a few minutes.
- After the reboot of the phone, you have the Android 4.2.2 version.
Wipe/Factory Reset
If you want to have a fresh installation of 4.2.2, you should wipe or factory reset your phone. I assume you have backed up all your personal data of your phone.
- Turn off your phone.
- Press simultaneously Home Button + Power Button + Volume Up Button until the Samsung logo appears on the screen, then release all the buttons.
- Press volume up and down buttons to move in the menu and press power button to select the menu item.
- In Recovery Mode screen, select the Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
- Select Yes — delete all user data and wait for a few minutes.
- Then select Reboot System Now.
- And lastly configure your new OS.

Can I update my old andriod 4.1.2 with new android 4.2.2 version without using laptop… with using of sd card….

Unfortunately you can not. The described way is just by Odin software on PC. When the official Android 4.2.2 version released, then you can update over Wi-Fi automatically.
