Nokia has brought a nice synergy with Microsoft to the market. After years of defeat on phone arena, it has a success with Lumia series. It is nice to see that, Nokia achieved to catch the smartphone era. Nokia Lumia 920 is a nice smartphone but not perfect. We will write about Nokia Lumia 920 problems.

Nokia Lumia 920 Problems

Nokia has done a wonderful job with Lumia Series in the meaning of design. Lumia 920 is one of the main actors of this series. It uses a Windows Phone 8 operating system. This smartphone has many hardware and software problems like the other ones.

Random Shutdown Problem

Some users reported that the device randomly switch off in the middle of use. This is the common one among the Lumia 920 problems.

Possible Solutions for Random Shutdown

  • A micro sim card which is cutted from a standard sim card can cause this problem. You can try to replace an original micro sim card.
  • Try changing network setting from LTE to 3G. Under Settings / Mobile Network / Highest Connection Speed, set LTE to 3G or 2G.
  • A hard reset (Camera + Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time) can solve the problem.
  • Replace the handset.


Lumia 920 Freezing Problem

Nokia Lumia 920 is unresponsible in some cases according to some user complaints. Some users face the same problem by using a bluetooth headset.

  • In email and accounts, disable Facebook synchronization.
  • Some users encountered with this problem after installing Viber. Three button reset and uninstalling Viber has solved user’s freezing problem.

Lumia 920 4G SIM Card Problem

  • Hard Reset the Phone (Camera + Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time).
  • Settings -> Mobile Network -> Highest Connection Speed. Set to 3G.
  • Replace the handset.

Overheating Problem

920 is overheating after some time (after 20 minutes or 1 hour according to some users). Overheating problem is a general issue for most smartphones. Nokia Lumia 920 users are also encountering with this problem.

Possible Solutions

  • Check the running tasks pressing the back button longly. Try closing all running processes.
  • Some programs search for permission to use location services. This may cause the Lumia 920 overheating problem. Battery Drain Problem

  • Change the Wi-Fi Networking setting as off.

Blurry Photos Problem

The photos taken with Nokia Lumia 920 are blurry. You don’t know why your photos are blurry. Then read the solution.

Solution

  • If you use camera shutter key, then you should first half press the camera shutter key and wait till camera locks focus on the scene.
  • If you take pictures by tapping on screen, then you should tap on the part of screen where you want to focus, then take the photo.

Screen Flickering Problem

Some Lumia 920 users complaining about the screen flickering. According to them, it is very disturbing especially with white background. Some of them have an answer from Nokia Service that this is not a hardware problem. This is a common Lumia 920 problem and there is no known ways to fix till now.

  • Factory Reset is a solution for a short time.

    my nokia lumina 920 display is flitering …. display is blinking some times…some times it is working fine.. what would be the reason

      Hi, there are only temporary fixes as far as I can see. You can get a new Lumia 920 with your warranty.

    Overheating is very common in lumia 925, and when i play games my lumia gets very hot and battery also drains faster.

    If i out on internet 5 to 10 min,my battery be so overheating why ? I had two ,i mean at the mobilephone close down twice, so i have restarted volume plus/minus and power on/off botton. One before, and one after upgrading.When i load the new black, i have big problome with that before.I have moore problome after upgrading.I have this mobilephone about two mounth nokia lumia 920.And i turn it off & turn on, one our two times per days,beacus it probleme with mobilephone why.

    I have problems downloading things it says I have no space but when I check the settings it says I have plenty room but I have went as far as deleting a lot thing off my phone and I don’t know what to do anymore. Another question I have can smartphones get viruses?

    Hi Ruth Ann,
    I haven’t seen anybody which has the problem you have encountered. You may try updating your phone software. Smartphones are safer than PC’s in terms of viruses. But it’s not guaranteed 100% safety from viruses. And I don’t know any virus issue on Windows Phone OS till now. Kind Regards.
